Call for papers has been extended until 19th of November at 23.59 hours.

The call for submission of communications to the First International Congress “The Spanish Armada of 1588 and the English Counter Armada of 1589. Naval conflict between Spain and England: 1580-1607”, which will be held at the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (Cartagena) the week of April 22nd to 27th, 2019, is open.

Those interested in participating should submit the form of registration, before the 19th of November, 2018, to the following address: informacion.arqua@cultura.gob.es e-mail

The congress aims to undertake a review of the interdisciplinary research carried out over the last 30 years on the naval conflict between Spain and England from 1580 to 1607, with particular reference to the Spanish Armada of 1588 and the English Counter Armada of 1589. While the conflict between England and Spain had ended by 1604 it wasn’t until the flight of the Earl’s from Ireland in 1607 that the threat of further Spanish involvement in English affairs on Irish soil was ended.

At the same time, the Congress aims to encourage the promotion of new research and researchers in the subjects under discussion.Salto de línea
