Memory of the Museum

Fragmentos del sepulcro de Vigarny

Both the history of the College of San Gregorio, especially during the Golden Age, and the Museum itself, between 19th and 20th centuries, are closely linked to the history of Spain. The Museum was founded in 1842 as Provincial Museum of Fine Arts. In 1933, the Provincial Museum was renamed as National Museum of Sculpture. This Museum has forged such a valuable and interesting memory as the artistic collections that exhibit and custodies in their rooms.
