Places which envelop the visitor with their power to evoke, spaces where house and contents, beautiful buildings and magnificent collections are combined to create unique environments. Elegant mansions which bore witness to the lives of the people who created them: collectors, artists, philanthropists, each with a passionate story. Different spaces, corners that welcome us into their intimacy. Another Madrid.
Salto de línea The Cerralbo Museum is one of the few examples in Madrid that demonstrate the original decorative setting of a late 19th-century aristocratic residence, scrupulously renovated in the first decade of the 21st century. It exhibits the collections assembled by the 17th Marquis of Cerralbo, a politician, archaeologist and passionate collector. Antiques, paintings and sculptures from the 16th to 19th centuries are harmoniously distributed around a secluded mansion with a garden in the centre of Madrid.Salto de línea

The National Museum of Romanticism offers a journey to a fascinating era. In this mansion, right in the centre of Madrid, the settings, rooms and lifestyle of the wealthy 19th-century bourgeoisie are recreated. A stroll through the dance hall, the dining room, the private rooms of the lords of the manor or the garden, introduces the visitor to the leading lights of Romanticism in Spain.
The National Museum of Decorative Arts is dedicated to the daily life of the past and the present. The permanent collection submerges the observer in the intimacy of the rooms of other eras. The temporary exhibitions are by preference dedicated to contemporary design and to the designers and artists, revered veterans or young newcomers, who create our surroundings. They also reveal many of the treasures housed in our storerooms to the visitor.
