Drawing the Crown of Aragon. History and fiction

La Corona de Aragón dibujada

From Thursday 17 November the Palace of the Viceroys, headquarters of the Archives of the Crown of Aragon, welcomes the exhibition "Drawing the Crown of Aragon. History and fiction". It will gather for the first time graphic works of the 20th and 21st centuries that have recreated the medieval period of the Crown of Aragon. The exhibition tour leads us from the historical narrative to the adventures novrl or the comic through the great names of the genre: D'Ivori, Junceda, Albert Mestre, Batllori i Jofré, Elvira Elias, Josep Granyer, Manuel Gago, Ambrós, Llucià Navarro, Enric Sió, Tísner, Ivà, Cesc, Jan, Jesús Blasco, Jaume Marzal or Sento together with original drawings of Oriol García Quera, Alfonso López and Francesc Riart.

It also shows some original documents from the medieval era ceded by the Archives of the Crown of Aragon. Among others there are the donation made by Ramiro II of Aragon to the count of Barcelona Ramon Berenguer IV of its daughter Petronila and all his kingdom, considered the founding charter of the Crown of Aragon, a contemporary story of the facts of the Almogavars in Orient or an original letter from the Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaeologus.
