European Heritage Label

The Archives of the Crown of Aragon is one of the oldest archival institutions in Europe and preserve one of the most important documentary collections of Medieval Europe. It has the recognition of the European Heritage Label due to its role in the history and culture of Europe. This badge, awarded by the European Commission in March 2015, is held by 16 institutions across Europe. In Spain they have this recognition, the Residence of Students (Madrid) and the Archives of the Crown of Aragon (Barcelona). The archive was also included in the intergovernmental category of European Heritage since its creation in 2007.
