The heritage of the frigate Mercedes, for everyone
The law suit and the recovery of the cultural property that came from the frigate Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes (Our Lady of Mercy in English) is unprecedented in the national and international management of underwater cultural heritage.
These pages narrate the long journey of this frigate – its past, its present and its future – and present its rich history, both recovered and lost, in order to highlight the importance of underwater cultural heritage as well as its proper conservation and preservation so as to both educate and raise awareness on the use of our heritage.
