Museum functions

To preserve, document, and exhibit its collections in an orderly fashion.
To promote the research of its collections, from both outside and within the museum.
To create periodic exhibitions related to its collections.
To conduct didactic activities connected with its collections.

To carry out these functions, the museum works closely with the Subdireccion Estatal de Museos (sub-directorate of state museums), who is in charge of the contracts, management and coordination of the economic, human resources, hiring and maintenance areas of this museum and the other museums directly managed by the Ministry.
