Library

The Library of the Museo del Traje, Centro de Investigación del Patrimonio Etnológico, houses a bibliographic and documentary collection on the content of its collections, in addition to owning a wide selection of resources on the history of costume and fashion, technique, textile production… It also has a considerable bibliographic collection on anthropology, cultural heritage, Spanish ethnology and museum studies.

The Library provides information and documentation services to the Museo staff, professionals, researchers and the general public.

It is located on the 1st floor, with direct access from the main entrance and it occupies a surface area of 1000m2. The reading room has 36 reading stations.

It has an automated collection catalogue, available to users in the reading room with Internet access.

Access to the collections of the Museo del Traje Library

It is free to anyone interested in the Museo’s bibliographic collections. The resources can be consulted exclusively inside the reading room and it is prohibited to take them out for personal use.

GENERAL INFORMATION Any person may request information about the Museo Library collections, avail of these and of services and consult the collection pertaining to the Reference Section freely available in the Reading room.

MEMBERSHIP CARD APPLICATION The card allows access to all Library services and resources except those restricted for security or conservation reasons. Applications are made in the library’s reading room by filling in a form available at the library counter. Valid for two years.

This card is linked to the State Museums Library Network BIMUS, and allows access to any library in the network, in compliance with the conditions of each one of them which can be found on: BIMUS
