The main objective of the Religiosity and Beliefs collection is to show the spiritual dimension of Spanish culture. The two most important aspects can be summed up in two points which, far from being extreme opposites, often merge: the practices associated with Catholicism and those related to superstition. These two aspects materialize in more than 26,500 objects covering over 4 centuries of history: rosaries, medals, reliquaries, devotional images, prints, objects of worship, liturgical furniture, ex-votos, mementos, measures, amulets, etc. Particularly noteworthy is the Mariano Archive, comprising an important documental archive, library and gallery of images, which brings together information about almost all the sightings of the Virgin Mary in our country.
