Galicia
Costume made of straw, comprising a caparucha (hooded cloak), under which the straw cape is placed. This consists of three parts, the outside in the form of a cloak that covers the shoulders and reaches to the waist, and two inner pieces that begin at the shoulders in the form of straps and reach to the feet.
The gaiters are worn on the lower legs and leather boots with wooden soles for the feet.
This is a garment that served to protect against the rain.
The outer fibres are left loose, and not woven to increase this protection. The straw has to be previously pressed for it to be possible to make the garment.
