Valcarlos (Navarre)
Ensemble comprising cotton shirt and trousers, decorated with golden passementerie, bijoux, red ribbons and cascabels. On the back, a set of ribbons that reach the knee, a beret on the head and espadrilles of esparto with red ribbon and cascabels on the feet.
In Valcarlos they are known as frills. This outfit is a very advanced version.
Although it retains the white colour of the dancers and the symbolism of the decoration, the ensemble is made up of modern pieces such as the long trousers, the shirt and the beret.
Occasionally, the casca is used, a trunco-conical hat similar to the mitres the dancers usually wear.
