Silver Necklace

León, 1800-1899

Gilded, silver necklace, with one string, made up of nine elements strung together and tied closed with a yellow silk ribbon: two hazelnuts, two Santiago Matamoros medals, two tubular pieces and two medals of Our Lady of the Pillar. At the centre, a circular medallion with two windows stands out, with considerable cresting applied to the perimeter. On the inside, two wax busts of children among flowers on one side, and on the other a printed image of the holy bishop on pink paper. This necklace is known as relicario de jardín in León.
