In 2007, the Laboratorio Permanente de Público de Museos (LPPM) was created, an initiative put forward by the Department of the Arts with the main goal of making research into the visiting public a management tool integrated into the regular activity of the museums, to help with planning and programming with the visitors’ needs and interests in mind.
The target of the study was the population visiting the Museo del Traje. CIPE during the period from April 2008 to March 2009. The sample selection was randomised at the Museo, using a systematic sampling technique. In the case of school groups, all those that visited the museum during the sample periods were included.
In general, this study presents conclusions that allow us to set in motion a joint action plan for the Museo, improving its faults, promoting its strengths and fostering visits.
