Preservation at the Museum of America

The department of Preservation and Restoration takes care of the preservation status of the collection, no matter if the pieces are exhibited, stored, or in transit out of their usual place. The staff on this department treat the pieces with restoration techniques when is necessary, they participate in research projects with other institutions, using new technologies and analysis techniques to assure the pieces’ preservation as well as their knowledge.
